| Modernising Day Services |
In 2003 we wrote a plan about how we wanted to make day services in Walsall better. The plan said that by 2010 we would have lots of smaller 'community bases' which support people to use their local services. |
By December 2009 we had opened seven community bases in Bloxwich, Willenhall, Pheasey, Pleck, Moxley, Rushall and Brownhills. |
We are focussed on promoting social inclusion, rights and choices for everyone who goes there. All of the activities we support are meaningful and they give people the chance to try new things and develop their own skills. |

Community Base Working Group |
Each base has regular meetings with everyone who attends to talk about what they have been doing and what they would like to do. |
Two people from each base are nominated to attend the 'Community Base Working Group'. This group looks at all of the bases to see how we can make them better. |
Finally two people from the Community Base Working Group attend the Fulfilling Lives advisory group and tell them what the bases want to happen. |
